Tips & tricks

NoteDx can [really] become

your personal assistant

NoteDx is not just a dictated note editor

It's more than that

You can ask it almost anything

Specific criteria?

A formula?

An MDCalc tool?

NoteDx executes your orders!

Modify the template

To begin, click on “Edit Template” at bottom left.

Template sections

Click on a section of the existing template, adding your criteria or modifying those already present

To add a new section to the template, click in the gray column on the left

Modify its title and customize its content (create your command, add formula, tool)

You can also view the NoteDx tutorial which introduces the template concept towards the end of the video

Abnormal or critical vital signs

You can ask NoteDx to annotate VS when they are abnormal

You can also add MAP

See how the template commands translate into the medical note below

Anything's possible: just familiarize yourself with the concept, and the ideas will come spontaneously

You can create your own orders and formulas, and define them as you wish

Generating a clinical note

[now] becomes a fun thing

Calculating the BMI

Want to include your patients' BMI?

It's easy!

Simply ask NoteDx, and it will be calculated if relevant when you specify the patient's weight and height

And it doesn't matter whether it's in metric or imperial units

The Shock Index (SI)

It's far from absolutely necessary, but why not include it?

You can ask to add it only if abnormal

See the result of abnormal flagged VS and SI once the note has been “copied and pasted” into the EMR patient clinical note

The Wells score?

The PERC and the 4PEPS?

You can ask NoteDx to calculate scores according to the known formulas

Here, NoteDx will calculate the Wells score whenever relevant

We can formulate our criteria to specify when and how to calculate scores

Exemple here, if the Wells score is low, it will calculate PERC

It can also calculate the 4PEPS

See the generated note with the calculated scores

This is without the clinician having mentioned anything about these scores in his dictation

NoteDx works for you

[all the time]

in the background

Pregnancy data?

To specify GxPxAx, gestational age according to the LMP date or to calculate the expected date of delivery (EDD)

Add your own criteria and formulas, and see how NoteDx will display this data automatically when relevant

And what about PoCUS (EDE)?

Here we indicate the format and the various EDE (PoCUS) examination windows

It is possible to request the use of the desired nomenclature (NDIUP) or LIUP)) depending on the specific context

In this case, the clinician dictates “presence of Iintra-uterine pregnancy and detection of fetal heart rate" and NoteDx automatically enters “LIUP”

More tools? other needs?

Have fun customizing your template and including whatever you think is necessary for you

It doesn't matter if you get it wrong! Correct, adjust and you'll find the right formula for you

Click on the document below to access the calculators and template sections described above. You can then copy and paste them into your template

We'll soon be adding a specific section in NoteDx where several calculators and common formulas will be available as preset add-ons that will be easily added to your template with a single click
